Q: What is The Biblical Studies Center Academic Program?
A: The Biblical Studies Center was built in 1973 with a vision to minister to the Boise State community. The BSC began to see many needs that could be filled by having college level accredited Bible classes in Boise. Boise students who are immersed in a secular academic environment can now take faith enriching classes for credit right on their campus. The program has also been an introduction for many young Christians who discovered a passion to go into ministry. Although the academic program is just one part of the BSC ministry, it is a very important tool that God uses to speak into the lives of students.
The Biblical Studies Center is accredited through Oklahoma Christian University. Although this is a denominational university, many evangelical Christian denominations have been represented among our students, instructors, and staff. The BSC encourages an "open Bible - open mind" atmosphere in our classes.
Q: How much does The Biblical Studies Center program cost?
A: Tuition is currently $50/credit. If you are young adult (age 29 and under), you may be eligible for a tuition scholarship. Scholarship students only pay for books, and registration fees ($10/credit). Please contact our office for scholarship information.
Q: Is there a limit to how many classes I can enroll in per semester?
A: Since this accredited program is designed for students who already have a busy schedule, we ask that our students only enroll in one to four courses per semester. (Around 2-12 credits)
Q: Can high school students enroll?
A: Students in their junior and senior year of high school may be eligible to enroll in freshman and sophomore level college courses. For further questions, and to schedule an admissions interview, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 208.342.2182.
Q: I am not a college student or a high school student. Can I still enroll in this program?
A: Young adults (age 29 and under) and traditional college students are the primary demographic for the BSC. Older community members may be permitted to enroll in BSC classes on a case by case basis. Pastors and ministers are encouraged to enrich their education through the BSC academic program as well. An admissions process including an application and interview will take place to ensure that all students are academically qualified and will contribute to a productive class environment. Please contact our office: email@example.com 208.342.2182
Q: Is this program accredited though BSU?
A: No. We are not affiliated with BSU. Our Bible program has been accredited through Oklahoma Christian University since 1973. You may be able to transfer up to eight semester units of Bible course credit to your university with the approval of your department chairperson and the university registrar. A form is available in the BSC office which you may use to have transcripts sent to your school.
Q: Can I receive a degree from the Biblical Studies Center?
A: Students who complete 18 credit hours or more through The Biblical Studies Center are eligible to receive a certificate that is equivalent to a minor in Bible.
